6 pack Abs is considered as a weight loss program which helps to strengthen your abdominal muscles and lose body fat. In order to accomplish each of these goals, it will need your dedication, willpower, patience and time to get a six pack but in the end, the effort is well worth it. You can have the most toned and defined abs but they won't show through if there's a layer of fat over them.

The How to Guide For Six Pack Abs
By John Jenkins

The truth is, for most people getting six pack abs is not an easy task because it requires dedication and motivation... but it is possible! Below is a general 2-step guide that, if followed religiously for 3 months, will improve your abs.
Step 1: Nutrition
This is the single most important part of the puzzle, hands down. You can have the most impressive set of abs, but if they're covered with a layer of fat, you won't see them! Break up your day with 5 or 6 mini-meals because this jump starts your metabolism.
And stop eating the food that is preventing you from seeing your abs:
-white bread -pasta -soda -candy -dessert -fast food -hydrogenated oils -sugars -fructose corn syrup
Instead, eat the foods that will help you reach your six pack goal:
-oatmeal -olive oil -whole grain breads -fruits -vegetables -nuts -eggs -natural peanut butter -chicken -fish -protein -green tea -water
Be realistic - you'll slip here and there, but make a conscious effort to improve your eating habits. Without good nutrition, getting a true six pack will be impossible.
Step 2: Exercise
You need to focus on 3 different exercises: cardio, weightlifting and ab exercises. And aim to workout 4 times per week (definitely a minimum of 3 times per week). The cardio you do can be anything: walking, running, biking, swimming...whichever cardio you don't mind doing so you stick with it.
The trick is to do the cardio in bursts because it will burn fat fast. For example, if you're running, walk for one minute and then sprint for 15 seconds and repeat 10 times. Perform this type of interval cardio 2 times per week.
Lifting weights is important because 3 pounds of added muscle burns as many calories as a 1 mile jog...and this is while you're just sitting around! Aim for 30-45 minutes, 2 times per week.
The last exercise you need to add to your workout are ab exercises. Aim to work your abs 3 times per week. There are a lot of different ab exercises you can do so try to find 3 or so that you enjoy doing and mix it up.
Tip: mix up your workout routine every 2 weeks to keep your body guessing and improving. Add or take away different weightlifting or ab exercises, or at the very least, vary the weight and reps you do.
Well, there you have it. Follow the above for 3 months, and while results will vary from person to person, you will see an improvement in your abs. And keep in mind that dedication and motivation will go a long way to helping you reach your goal of having six pack abs.
Another routine that will help you get a ripped stomach and a lean physique is called the Truth About 6 Pack Abs. It's a best-selling fitness program because it works and it over-delivers.

A Great Six Pack Abs Diet
By Peter Jayson

You do not have to go on a strict fad diet to get six pack abs. Instead just follow these guidelines to create an effective six pack abs diet for yourself.
1) Eat more. Remember you are trying to build some muscle around your stomach while burning fat. Avoid starving yourself and make sure you stay full all day without overdoing it. It is all about balance when trying to get six pack abs.
2) Eat healthy natural foods most of the time. Try to eat unprocessed foods at least 90% of the time. Some great choices are lean meats, nuts, beans, fruits, and vegetables. These are the kinds of foods that really promote fat loss.
3) Eat junk food sometimes. You can have about 3 cheat meals a week but make sure they are no bigger than your regular meals. They can be whatever you want. Eating pure crap sometimes really helps with fat loss. So you can indulge without feeling guilty.
4) Eat 5-6 small meals a day. Try to eat about every 3 hours. By doing this you will feel full and energized all day. Your belly fat will shrink and you will fuel your body up for workouts.
5) Eat protein with each meal. Having a source of protein like cottage cheese, chicken, salmon, or milk is important if you are trying build muscle since protein is the building blocks for muscle.
6) Limit carbs. Starchy carbs like bread, pasta, and oatmeal should only be consumed after a workout. Eat fruits and vegetables with each meal to get more carbs for energy. Fruits and vegetables are not loaded with calories like starchy carbs are but they provide your body with plenty of carbs.
7) Have healthy fats with each meal. Some great choices are peanut butter, olive oil, and salmon. Healthy fats help your body burn more fat. Just make sure to avoid trans fat from foods that are fried and processed. Saturated fat should be limited to about 10% when reading the food labels.
8) Drink water. Instead of having drinks loaded with calories like juice, soda, and alcohol drink water and tea which have no calories but help wash away your gut.
An example of a six pack abs diet.
You do not have to worry about calories or portion sizes too much. What is important is that you fill up on natural foods like the kinds mentioned above.
Breakfast - An omelet with spinach and tomatoes cooked in olive oil with an orange on the side.
Mid-morning snack - Smoothie made up of milk, frozen fruit, almonds, and some whey protein.
Lunch - A banana with spoonful of natural peanut butter and a cup of green tea.
Afternoon snack after workout - A bowl of oatmeal with milk, cinnamon, and an apple.
Dinner - Salmon cooked in olive oil with asparagus.
Night snack - Cottage cheese and red grapes
Don't forget you can have junk food as long as you eat clean like this for 90% of the time.

6 Pack Abs For Women - Exercises That Can Help Make This Happen

By Wadlow Chris Platinum Quality Author

Women find it especially difficult to get 6 pack abs because of the unique way that their body accumulates fat. Women tend to put on weight on their abdomen, hips and thighs due to hormonal reasons and they have to therefore exercise a lot in order to get rid of it.

One exercise that many women follow with great results is the tummy isometric crunch. You can do this exercise any time of the day and at any place. To do it, you have to suck in your stomach as much as possible. At the same time, you have to visualize that your navel is sucked right up to your back. This is a good way of putting pressure on your abs. The advantage of this exercise is that it will give you a greater awareness of how your stomach muscles can be controlled. Keep your breathing steady while doing this, but do not attempt it if you have blood pressure problems.

Rectus Abdominis exercises will also help you get 6 pack abs. You should lie flat on your back with your knees bent. Your feet should be placed at the same width of your hips. With your hands at the side of your head for support, you should attempt lifting your head, neck and shoulder blades off the floor. Keep this position for a few seconds until you lie back again. Do as many repetitions as you can until your abdomen begins to feel the burn.

Another good set of exercises for 6 pack abs is the sit-back flat tummy exercises. Take a sitting position on the floor, keeping your knees bent so that your feet are placed flat on the floor. You should then cross your arms over your chest and bring your head and shoulders in towards your chest. With this position as a start, you should lean back gently until you feel pressure on your abs. Keep going back until your abs can take it no longer, and try to hold that position for at least 5 seconds after which you should come right back to your starting position. Do at least 5 repetitions of this exercise for 6 pack abs.

You cannot hope to have 6 pack abs only by exercising. Your diet will have to be controlled in order to reduce your calorie and fat intake. In time, you will be able to get the body shape you are working towards.
